Granite and Quartz Qualities Granite is an igneous rock formed 750 million to 3 billion years ago after molten magma cooled in the earth's crust. Granite is a fully natural product. It is quarried, cut to size, polished and will finally be fitted in your kitchen.
Unlike many other surface materials, Granite and Quartz (composite stone) offer a prestigious look and provide durability. Granite is waterproof and stain resistant, ensuring its polished surface remains for years. The variations in its structure, pattern and colour are characteristic and constitute part of its appeal and value.
Composite stone work surfaces are pre treated with a liquid silicone sealer which reduces their natural porosity and provides a protective coating. Mixed with crushed mirror and glass, this surface appeals to a diverse range of applications. The tiny fragments catch natural and in particular halogen down lighting with tremendous effect.
Granite and Quartz work surfaces are designed to your individual specification with a varied selection of cut-outs and edge profiles to choose from. Design features include splash-backs in a choice of 20mm and 30mm thickness and recessed drainers for added impact.
Marble Marble is a delicate material that has care guidelines similar to that of a fine piece of wood. It is not recommended for use in kitchens or in high traffic areas. Cutting directly on marble will produce scratches. Trivets and placements should be used under all ceramics, china and other vessels to reduce the possibility of scratching.
Granite Origin and Range The granite blocks extracted from the quarries are sliced into slabs of 20mm, 30mm or 40mm thickness. Its top surface is then wet-polished by special machines to bring out its exquisite colours and natural veining. |
